Task 4: Contact Your Representatives
Citizenship is about action and it's time to put to use everything you have learned this year. Contact the White House and your congressmen about an issue you feel needs their attention.
You will probably receive a response, but it may take several weeks and will probably be a boilerplate that tangentially addresses your concerns. Nevertheless, congressional and White House staffers do keep a basic tally of "pro" and "con" letters and phone calls on controversial issues. If you feel comfortable sharing your letter or the response you receive, please let me know. I will post your samples here for future classes to use as a reference. Writing Guidelines
